Standby Generators (Stationary)

These are typically used for 'standby' operations – for houses with poor or intermittent electricity supply or businesses that cannot afford a power outage for any period of time. These are called ‘standby generators’ and usually kick in automatically when the main power source fails. The size of the generator will depend on the peak demand from the users, but all sizes are available from a 15kw to 100+kw are available.

Generator buyers can choose between single or three phase supply, depending on the duty required. A home or office facility will manage with single phase, but a commercial operation will require 3 phase systems.

These generators can be run on diesel, but natural gas is becoming a more environmentally friendly power source for these types of generators.
