JCB has consulted with the companies that use its products to come up with a range of wheeled loaders which are tailored to the needs of the operators that will actually be using them. And so whether you are buying a new model or taking the more affordable second hand route to ownership, the family of low maintenance machines can cope with whatever you have to throw at it. With small wheeled loaders weighing from just two tonnes up to the 24 tonne monsters at the top of the range, JCB has filled every niche with versatile vehicles. And with a catalogue of quality used models at your disposal, you should have no trouble selecting a seriously impressive machine.

Typical Used JCB Wheeled Loader - Here a 411B

Where space is limited a compact wheeled loader is needed, which is exactly the role that the JCB 403 is capable of filling. The smallest machine in this category is nevertheless a well built, easy to operate piece of kit, boasting a maximum loader capacity of 0.3 cubic metres and running on a 28kW engine from Kohler. Because the 403 features wheels with individual motors, the entire assembly offers impressive levels of ground clearance, meaning that even over very irregular surfaces it will be able to scramble unhindered. This nimbleness goes hand in hand with a durable construction and various safety features, including a roll bar so that the operator is protected no matter what happens.

With a large 1.7 cubic metre capacity shovel affixed to the front, the JCB 411 is a wheeled loader that is less disruptive and noisy during operation than a tracked equivalent. Everything about this model is tuned towards durability, ensuring it can fulfil a number of duties in tough conditions, calling upon twin hydraulic gear pumps that speed up the operation of the loading mechanisms without requiring excessive maintenance. For the people who have to spend their days aboard a wheeled loader, two things matter: the comfort of the cab and the ease with which they can access all of the machine's features. As well as being large and offering great visibility, the 411 and the other heavy duty wheeled loaders on JCB's books are safer than the average vehicles of this kind. Coupled with simplified maintenance access points and an efficient EcoMAX engine, this adds up to make the 411 an enviable investment.

Leading JCB's new range of wheeled loaders is the 457, a machine that not only manages to be practical and powerful but also has elements of style and flash that might not be expected from this kind of equipment. It has a 258hp engine with 7.7 litres of muscle under a single piece bonnet. And even with plenty of grunt to call upon, the 457 shaves 16 per cent off fuel consumption when set alongside JCB's outgoing heavy duty wheeled loader. A loader capacity of 3.5 cubic metres shows that this means business, while the CommandPlus Cab is another new addition that makes this model stand out from the crowd. Meanwhile used buyers will still get exceptional performance and functionality from JCB's past generations of wheeled loaders.
